Abstract
Bachelor thesis is dealing with design of Formula Student Rear Upright and its strength analysis. The Formula student team is participating in yearly competition called Formula Student. The competition’s main goal is to challenge undergraduate engineering students in a variety of disciplines for future employment in mobility-related industries by challenging them with a real world, by designing and manifacturing a formula type vehicle. Every detail is important, that is why this thesis is dealing with one of the most important parts of undercarriage – rear upright. At the beginning, there will be analysis
of a current solution. Easy dynamic task is required to find forces acting on the rear upright. Topology optimization was used to find new solution and design. Its solution was than analysed with same bondary conditions and compared to a current solution.
