In the beginning the thesis concentrates on a brief overview of freight rail vehicles and descriptions of a pneumatic brake system and a system to empty freight wagons. Later the thesis focuses on the details of pneumatic brake system and design for emptying freight wagons including the specification of materials used and the subsequent verification functions using simulation and actual engagement of a test equipment rig.
