Abstract

This thesis is focused on the design of a refrigeration box for storing foodstuff. The introductory part summarizes an overview of the food industry, where the refrigeration is used for food storage or where the refrigeration is part of the actual food production. The next part contains a description of the cooling box and lists all relations which are necessary for the design of cooling system, depending on the size of refrigerated space, the type of goods and operating conditions. These relations are applied to calculate the parameters of a specific cooling system. The third section contains a selection of individual components of the cooling system based on calculated parameters. The final section summarizes the operating and investment costs. They are given opportunities to savings in operating costs, including their economic balance.
