Abstract

Bachelor thesis is dealing with design of burner geometry for steam engine. In the introduction the thesis is dealing with burners, mainly with atmospheric burners. In this chapter is described principle, construction parts, types and combustion stoichiometry. Next section is focused on boilers, mainly the cylindrical boilers. In the third chapter is described principles of CFD (Computer Fluid Dynamics) in area of flow and combustion, and methods of creation and evaluation of numerical simulations. In the practical part is described demonstration model of boiler and maximum heat performance is identified. Afterwards the burner geometry is designed and used for numerical simulations in Ansys CFX. The functionality of the designed geometry is then verified using numerical simulations of flow and combustion.
