Abstract

Bachelor’s thesis deals with the design of a traffic solution in the area of Hrdinů Square and Petrovická Street in the city of Krnov, focusing on increasing the safety of all road users, improving the clarity of the traffic space, and optimizing traffic organization. The thesis includes an analysis of the current state of the area, identification of the main problems, and assessment of traffic calming possibilities. Based on these materials, the results of a questionnaire survey, and the calculation of the required number of parking spaces, two traffic solution variants were developed. These variants were subsequently compared using multicriteria evaluation, on the basis of which Variant A was selected as the most suitable. This variant provides increased traffic safety, clearer traffic relations, traffic calming through the introduction of a Zone 30, and more efficient parking organization. The proposed solution also contributes to the improvement of public space quality and creates better conditions for pedestrian and cyclist movement.
