Abstract

TEPLÍČEK, Martin, Assessing the risk of dust explosion at tire grinding at Barum Continental s.r.o. Ostrava, 2018. 50 p. Bachelor thesis. VŠB – TU Ostrava, Faculty of Safety Engineering The Bachelor thesis deals with the assessing of the explosivity of rubber dust arising from the tire grinding as part of the repair of the defect. As a result there is an potential risk of an explosive atmosphere at this workplace. The main part of this thesis is determination of fire-technical characteristics, such as the minimum initiation energy, the minimum ignition temperature of a settled dust and of a whirled up dust and lower explosion limit and maximum explosion pressure. In the final part, the resulting values are assessed in terms of explosion at the grinding workplace.
