Abstract
This diploma thesis deals with the design of an unwinding unit intended for handling and processing technical textiles. The introductory part provides a review of existing types of unwinding equipment and a comparison of their main construction units, especially lifting systems, clamping methods, and tension control. Based on specified requirements, which include handling rolls weighing up to 1500 kg and widths up to 1600 mm, an original structural design is developed.
The designed device utilizes shaftless clamping with pneumatic expanders and a hydraulic system for lifting the roll directly from the floor. The construction further includes a mechanism for symmetrical arm centering driven by trapezoidal screws, an automatic web edge alignment system, and a tensioning mechanism (dancer) to ensure constant tension. The thesis also includes the design of a splicing table for joining textiles, a safety solution using protective fencing, and complete verification calculations of key components, including drives and bearing life. Selected manufacturing drawings, weldment drawings, assembly drawings, as well as data sheets of selected purchased machine components, are included in the appendix.
