Abstract

The diploma thesis is focused on mathematical modeling of single-phase flow in a gate valve using ANSYS Fluent software. Introductory part is focused on gate valves and the theoretical side of mathematical flow modeling (CFD). In second part is described the solution of the task using mathematical modeling and boundary conditions are determined for various fluids. Solution includes drawing the geometry, modifying supplied parts of CAD model, creation of 3D mesh, solver settings and defining boundary conditions. Next part includes the evaluation of results data. In this part the necessary quantities are also calculated and results are shown in text and graphic form. The final part compares the results for different fluids.
