Abstract
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of financial literacy and its level across generations X, Y, and Z. The main aim of the thesis is to analyze and compare the level of financial literacy among these generations and to identify potential differences in knowledge, attitudes, and financial behavior. The theoretical part defines the key concepts related to financial literacy, describes its importance in contemporary society, and characterizes individual generations in terms of their socio-economic context. It also focuses on factors influencing individual financial decision-making.
The empirical part of the thesis is based on quantitative research conducted through a questionnaire survey. The questionnaire focused on financial knowledge, attitudes towards finance, and actual financial behavior of respondents. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and comparative analysis across generations. The results indicate the existence of differences between generations, with each generation demonstrating specific characteristics in the area of financial literacy. The thesis provides recommendations for improving financial education and supporting responsible financial behavior among different age groups.
