Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the design of cogeneration units with the piston internal combustion engine for a hotel complex. The theoretical part explains basic concepts with the focus on a combined production of heat and electric power; it also comes with the classification of cogeneration units according to a propulsion source and the size of the device. In the practical part, the cogeneration units with the piston internal combustion engine are alternatively designed with respect to a measured consumption of electricity and heat at the Komorní Hůrka hotel complex. For these variants, the calculations of the structural design of the heat exchanger of “waste gases – water” type and the heat exchanger of “water – water” type are carried out. For both variants, the techno-economic appraisal of possible project implementation is processed.
