Numerical and Empirical Mass Flow Calculations during Steam Blowing

Abstract

The Master thesis deals with the possibility of applying the theory of adiabatic flow (Fanno flow) and isothermal flow in a straight pipe of the constant cross-section for obtaining flow values in practical cases of steam blowing of pipe routes. Steam blowing, Fanno flow theory as well as isothermal flow and analytical results were described and compared with the results of numerical simulations of four imaginary and one real geometry of the pipeline route. The main goal will be to assess the results and figure which flow model is more suitable for the steam blowing technology.
