Abstract

This thesis concerns design of a tracked chassis for an excavator used for surface coal mining. The first part provides an overview of chassis of various purpose excavators. In the second part a caterpillar carriage for a 3.900 ton excavator is designed. The third section contains basic calculations of the tracked chassis drive output and stress calculations for the caterpillar carriage. The fourth section contains a detailed design of a tracked chassis element.
