Srovnání gabionové a prefabrikované železobetonové zárubní zdi v zářezu dálnice D48

Abstract

This paper deals with the problematics of retaining structures and their role as geotechnical structures in transport constructions. That includes familiarization of basic principles related to functioning, designing and realization of retaining structures. At the same time, the prevailing technologies and their application in transport constructions are presented. The main goal of this paper is to make a practical comparison of the currently most popular technology of gabion walls with the less known technology of precast cantilever concrete walls. For this purpose, a prefabricated cantilever wall is designed as an alternative for real gabion wall in the road cut of the D48 motorway. Both walls are statically assessed and comprehensively compared on the basis of many parameters with emphasis on the cost, difficulty of the realization and its duration. The partial goal of this paper is to approximate the process of realization of the gabion structure and the precast cantilever wall. The result of this work will be the definition of a more advantageous technology for the mentioned road cut of the D48 motorway.
