Abstract
This master’s thesis deals with the issue of repairing welded joints in the power industry, which represent critical points in terms of safety and durability of technological units. The theoretical part provides an overview of the importance of welded joints in power equipment, such as steam pipelines, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers, and analyses their advantages and technological limitations. Attention is paid to the classification of typical manufacturing and operational defects that initiate the need for remedial actions.
The practical part of the thesis focuses on the evaluation of repair methods, especially technologies using composite wrap systems. As part of the experimental verification, an analysis of these systems was carried out on test specimens made of carbon and stainless steels with artificially created through-wall defects. The thesis also includes a metallographic analysis of the macrostructure and microstructure of the repaired joints, supplemented by measurements of tightness and resistance to internal overpressure.
