Simulační studie vlivu krátkých řadících pruhů na kapacitu vjezdů

Abstract

The bachelor’s thesis addresses the issue of short turning lanes on the arm of a signal-controlled intersection. The aim of this thesis is to create a model of an intersection arm to study the effect of the length of individual turning lanes on the capacity of the intersection. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on introducing the issue and its context, the currently used methods of addressing the problem, and concludes with an analysis of the simulation software Witness Horizon. The practical/research part focuses on the construction of the simulation model itself, while its second part gradually tests various combinations of turning lane lengths in order to observe their impact on traffic behavior in the simulated environment.
