Abstract

This thesis describes the design procedure of a main shifting thumb in a gearshift booster using several topology optimization methods and software which has been created to support additive manufacturing. The thesis is divided into three main parts. The first part is a familiarization with the different types of systems that are used by TATRA trucks. The following section deals with topology optimization methods and the application of topology optimization using ANSYS software. The final part deals with additive manufacturing preparation, process and experimental validation.
