Abstract

This thesis is focused on the study of the influence of corrosive environment on the properties of protective coatings. Aggressive corrosive environment is a basic feature of revealing the location of the steel structures and these are important parameters in choosing high-quality corrosion protection material. The most common corrosion protections are one surface protection coating systems. The experimental part is focused on testing of coating systems applied on steel structures and their long-term exposure to the corrosive environment. Blasted samples with surface preparation grade Sa 2 ½ with the applied coating systems were exposed in an artificial salt mist atmosphere and corrosive solution that is used to test the speed margin test. An evaluation of degradation and adhesion of tested paint systems followed. At the end of the experimental part gravimetric method was used to find volatile organic compounds in paint.
