Abstract

The thesis deals with a 3D calculation of an original axial outlet diffuser with torrential and geometric parameters suitable for running an experimental device in the Škoda laboratory. The aim of this thesis is to optimize the inner and the outer angle of axiao diffuser´s walls in order to reach minimal energetic loss and then to increase inlet Mach number into the diffuser up to the values equal with those of a real machine. Eventually, the recommendations of a suitable combination of the width of the angles and the correction of the current model of diffusers´ loss are provided. Autodesk Inventor 2011 was used to create the model and the numerical calculation was executed in ANSYS 13.0 Fluent.
