Abstract
Machining technology and special materials joining processes have a significant place in industrial practice as the dominant factor in engineering production. Generally, the highest safety requirements are imposed on the production of transport equipment. The mistakes or malfunctions of these systems can have fatal consequences not only on the means of transport itself, but also on human lives.
The aim of the dissertation is a detailed study of whether the selected parameters of surface integrity can influence the subsequent glued connection. Surface integrity parameters, in particular surface roughness and residual stresses, may be affected by inappropriate selection of cutting conditions during machining, which may be of great importance for the life of the glued joint. This will also be experimentally verified and evaluated. The machined material will be an aluminum alloy as it is a significant representative of the material in the field of production of transport means due to the ever-increasing requirements for reducing the weight of the final products. These samples will be machined by different cutting conditions and then the surface roughness parameters and the residual stresses in the material surface will be measured on the samples. After the evaluation, the samples will be glued together with the high-strength adhesive, which is commonly used in the production of transport means. Such glued samples will be sent for accelerated aging tests, and then it will be determined and evaluated whether different machining that affects the surface integrity parameters has occurred after gluing to a decrease in strength as a function of aging. The results of the experimental work of this study will be evaluated in the internal laboratories of VŠB-TUO and in the external testing laboratories.
