Abstract

The bachelor's thesis deals with the design of a climbing protection device. In the first part, I study belaying and climbing aids in the form of a research. The main part of the research is progressive belaying, which mainly includes the proposed component, namely a camming device. I also pay attention to other belaying aids that are important when climbing rocks. In the following part, the thesis is devoted to an proposed design. At the beginning I am designing the cams, where I am looking for different shapes, then the body and finally the end of the body. The pilot ideas are prepared by sketches and afterward desing is moved into virtual space. The final part of my work is the preparation of a somatographic study, where I address the interaction of a climber with a camming device.
