Abstract
This bachelor thesis deals with a comprehensive review of technologies and sensors
designed for acquiring depth data in 3D space, which is a key discipline for modern robotics,
autonomous systems, and industrial automation. The thesis is divided into three main parts.
The first part provides a detailed theoretical analysis of the physical and mathematical
principles underlying 3D sensing, including triangulation and time-of-flight methods. The
second part maps the current market and analyzes available commercial devices, ranging from
low-cost cameras for hobby robotics to high-end metrological systems. The third part is
dedicated to analyzing current trends in the application of these sensors directly within the
field of robotics.
