Vliv hydraulických prvků na sání čerpadla

Abstract

HUDEČEK, Martin. Influence of the Hydraulic Elements on the Pump Suction: bachelor’s thesis. Ostrava: VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Hydromechanics and Hydraulic Devices, 2023. Thesis supervisor: Ing. Jana Jablonská, Ph.D. The bachelor's thesis deals with the influence of resistances on pump suction and its characteristics. In the theoretical part I describe the origin and problems of cavitation, pump suction head, cross-sectional measuring devices, and the types of flow in pipelines. In the practical part, I performed measurements of the pump characteristics with suction resistances. First, a transparent tube was used at the suction, then a convergent-divergent nozzle of circular and rectangular cross-sections, on which I observed the developing cavitation. From the measured values, I calculated the Reynolds number, fluid flow velocities, loss coefficient, mass and volumetric air fraction and cavitation number for hydraulic elements. At the end of the work, there is a graphical comparison of the measured and calculated quantities for the mentioned elements on suction and pump characteristic.
