Možnosti využití moderních herních enginů ve výuce biologie

Abstract

The thesis deals with the possibilities of using modern game engines, namely Unreal Engine 4, in the field of microbiology and human anatomy. The first part of the thesis describes the basics of Physically-based rendering together with the comparison of two main approaches in material creation. In the context of Physically-based Rendering (PBR) the possibilities of lighting the scenes are also described. Next chapter is devoted to optimization techniques, which are absolutely necessary to run the resulting applications smoothly. The outputs of this work include applications of the Virtual Laboratory, Bloodstream, and Human Anatomy. Applications were created primarily for virtual reality devices (HTC Vive). One of the applications is also designed for touch screen monitors and smart boards. Output applications have been consulted with the Science and Technological Centre Ostrava for which are the applications are primarily designed.
