Abstract

The bachelor thesis deals with the selection of suitable coatings for shaping tools in Pramet Tools Company. The theoretical part provides the present technology coating shaping tools, properties and application of selected coatings. It is the blackening, nickel plating and PVD coatings. In the experimental part of the thesis is chosen suitable and available tests to determine the necessary information about the behavior of the coating during different conditions. Resultant measured values have not determined best coating, nevertheless it is currently recommended to use nickel coatings with the fact that research in Pramet Tool Company will continue. A detailed conclusion is in the final chapter of this bachelor thesis.
