Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the study and comparison of the cogeneration units for the energy use of landfill gas. The first part describes the characteristics and uses of biogas and biomass processing. The next step explains basic concepts of cogeneration, environmental and economic benefits of cogeneration unit. The practical part proposes and compares cogeneration unit with a gas combustion engine and cogeneration unit with combustion turbine, which also envisages the option of flue gas heat recovery. The thesis in the last part rates the cogeneration units in terms of usage and operation of the landfill waste.
