Abstract

This master's thesis focuses on the mechanical design of modifications to the pull-in device and a new cutting device for the KTS 4 line at the Staré Město u Uherského Hradiště steel drawing plant. The objective of the design is the modernization of the pull-in section of the line, which will enable the efficient and safe feeding of bar material into the horizontal straightening rollers. The thesis includes a technological review of cold steel drawing, calculation of the cutting forces for the proposed circular saw, and a detailed design of the drive mechanism, including a three-stage gearbox. The safety of the critical parts of the proposed design is verified by analytical calculations and computational software.
