The Draft of Lubrication System for Skip Loading of Blast Furnaces: Bachelor Thesis Ostrava: VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Production Machines and Design, 2015 51 p. Thesis head: Ing. Ladislav Hrabec, Ph.D. In the first part of the bachelor thesis, the main terms related to construction and maintenance of steel wire ropes used for loading of blast furnace are explained. In the second, experimental part, expected operating life of the steel wire rope and number of working cycles of the skip winch are calculated. Calculated results are compared and it is evaluated, that the operating life of the steel wire rope in real conditions is longer than the operating life calculated. Because the purpose of this thesis is to extend the operating life of the steel wire rope, methods of steel wire rope maintenance are checked and for detected deficiencies, solutions leading to extension of the steel wire rope are suggested.
