The bachelor's thesis deals with waste management of the Statutory City of Ostrava. It is also about the associated evaluation of the development of production of individual components of municipal waste in the period 2011 to 2018. The data for this work was provided by OZO Ostrava s.r.o., which is the largest waste company in the city. The bachelor thesis is divided into several chapters. The theoretical part is focused on waste legislation and methods of collection, separation and management of municipal waste in the Czech Republic. The practical part contains the strategic plan of waste management in Ostrava and especially the development and analysis of mixed municipal waste and separated components in the measured period. The work also included a sociological survey, which focused on the management of household waste and the general public opinion on the topic of waste and their management.
