Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to optimize the production process of castings from aluminum alloy AlSi7Mg0.6. A simulation program will be used to optimize them. The theoretical part is devoted to the basic properties of aluminum and its alloys, which are important in the field of foundry technology. Foundry defects that arise during production and the possibilities of their solution will be explained. Finally, the individual steps of constructing gating system with formulas for calculation will be described. The practical part clarifies the individual steps performed in the MAGMASOFT program, leading to the final result of casting optimization. The sub-procedures that needed to be performed to complete the final work will be shown and described. These are geometrical changes to the casting system, which will ensure quality improvement and a reduction in the economic costs of production.
