Abstract

In recent years, detection of the parking places can be used in many positive ways. For example, the detection results may be displayed inside the cars or at the parking lot. Based on the detection results, the drivers can easily find free places. In general, the parking lot places can be detected using many sensors. With the use of camera, the parking lot can be monitored very efficiently, therefore, the camera based parking lot detector is presented in this paper. This detector is based on the gradient information which is encoded using the histograms. The histograms are composed to the feature vector that is used as an input for the SVM classifier. The detection results and parameters of the method are presented in the work.
