The bachelor thesis deals with the cavitation formation and subsequent losses on a convergent divergent sharp-edged nozzle with a circular cross-section with a rectangular cross-section. The introduction deals with the theory of cavitation phenomenon, similarity theory, losses, hydraulic diameter and evaluation of measurement errors. It then describes the experimental circuit on which the measurements were made. It then discusses the truncation of the measured data and its subsequent evaluation. Finally, the characteristics of the two elements are compared. The cavitation in the circular element occurred earlier than in the rectangular element.
