Abstract

Bachelor's thesis deals with features of gun ammunition, with its purpose and dividing into categories. The thesis states general structural diagram of gun cartridge and describes his basic parts. Every particular calibre are ordered according to the historical development and are there specified calibres used currently. With emphasis on calibres available in the today’s domestic and world marketplace. In appendix you find picture gallery of the most widely used gun ammunition and some law abstracts relating to the ammunition. I state here also an overview of technical ballistic characteristics of the most used cartridges with calculations of these characteristics. Part of my thesis is also an overview of cartridge impacts reached final destination including method description and their assessment. Bachelor's thesis contains a summary of law aspects regarding right to bear and use cartridges in the Czech Republic. At the end of my thesis you can find comparison of available cartridges in the market sorted according ballistic and economical criteria entered from an independent user. To finish I describe cartridge variability too and I specify the world’s most used cartridge.
