Abstract

The bachelor thesis deals with design of garden branch crusher. The introduction provides a comparison of branch crushers available on the market. Based on the comparison of individual machines, a branch crusher with counter-rotating shafts driven by an electric motor is designed. For the transmission of torque, first a belt drive transmission is used, followed by a transmission with cogwheels. As for the designed shafts, a static and a dynamic stress analyses are carried out. Furthermore, the calculation part is concerned with rating life of bearings, connection of shafts and hubs, and stress analysis of cutting blades. At the end of the thesis the overall calculation of costs is provided. A drawing of the designed garden branch crusher is part of the enclosure of this bachelor thesis.
