Abstract
The main goal of this thesis is to describe the proces of gas cylinder production and simulate the process of backward extrusion. Simulation focuses on the production of a new type of gas cylinder which has never been made. The gas cylinder is made of martensitic alloy X4CrNiMo16-5-1.
The next goal of this thesis is to determine ideal forming temeperature and determine the impact of deformation and temperature on the material.
For the simulation setup we used program FORGE 2005. Sumilation reveald creation of protrusions in the bottom part of gas cylinder. This finding was confirmed in the real forming process.
Metallographic research found out that ideal forming temperatures ranges from 1100 °C to 1200 °C. The creation of protrutions can be removed using a suitable forming temperature. Other option to remove the protrusions is the adjustment of forming tools.
