Počítání a kategorizace vozidel s podporou DSRC V2X komunikace

Abstract

The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to design a solution for categorizing and counting vehicles communicating in the dedicated 5.9 GHz band. This band includes services based on the IEEE 802.11p standard, which use dedicated short-range wireless networks, such as V2X, V2V, V2I, and other services. As part of the thesis, a modular architecture was designed that divides the entire process into low‑level data collection and subsequent analytical processing on the server side. The outcome of the thesis is a functional application that uses the Tshark tool to decode the structure of V2X messages. The implemented solution enables the identification of unique vehicles and stations, their classification as OBU/RSU, and the subsequent visualization of individual messages. The functionality of the application was verified and tested on real data sets, demonstrating its ability to efficiently process and categorize captured traffic. The contribution of this work is the creation of a tool that enables objective assessment of the penetration level of V2X technologies in real-world traffic.
