Měření charakteristiky dýzy na vodní trati

Abstract

Bachelor thesis deals with characteristics of a convergent – divergent nozzle of circular section when the water flows through it. In the theoretical section, I deal with theory of cavitation, effects of physical properties of the liquid on creation of cavitation and the flow of liquid through narrowed cross section. In the practical section, I measured characteristics of a nozzle in the area of turbulent flow, with and without the effect of cavitation, and I defined both loss coefficient and outflow coefficient during the flow of liquid without cavitation. The thesis includes an evaluation of the initial cavitation coefficient related to a proper geometry during the flow of water and the amount of air in it, and with help of a high speed camera, it also includes an evaluation of the length of the cavitation area.
