Abstract

This Bachelor thesis deals with the assessment of varying adhesion with tyres designed for soft surfaces. The introduction describes the wording of the UNECE regulations in relation to stopping distances to L- category vehicles. The theory concerning coefficient of adhesion is explained in more depth. Next is the experimental measuring of braking distances and the measuring of adhesion coefficients of 5 different road surfaces. Finally these values are entered into a table of theoretical measurements.
