Abstract

The paper describes hexafluoride sulfur (6SF) as a chemical compound and its chemical attributes. It also describes in detail a way of using 6SF as a tracer gas for analyses of mining ventilation. 6SF was investigated by the Bureau of Mines in the USA together with other organic and inorganic compounds and radioactive substances. 6SF was found as a suitable tracer gas. The next chapter deals with the application of 6SF (in situ) at the Frenštát Mine.
