Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with the optimization of cutting conditions in turning hardened steel. It is known that turning is very popular way of metal cutting. Preliminary individual terms of turning issues are explained and described. Origination and development of steel turnings and the accompanying phenomena in turning, such as the generation of heat, emerging forces, cooling and lubrication. Subsequently the geometry of the blade is mentioned and elaboration of problems of tool materials, which are used in turning today. Practical part follows, where the measured parameters are referred and the subsequent evaluation of all findings, compared to the former ways of cutting. At last the technical-economic assessment of selected conditions and proposal with recommendation of the optimal solution for cutting the specific component are included.
