Abstract

The subject of the thesis is processing the study of overcoming the security of buildings, focusing on the use of cylinder locks. The aim is to obtain information what strength is needed to an offender to overcome them. The theoretical part deals with the description of existing security systems using cylinder locks. Further is provided description of components and description of drawbacks in terms of non-destructive and destructive methods of overcoming these security systems including the description of methods for investigating violent overcoming of cylinder locks. The practical part is based on experimental destructive breaking of cylinder locks with a hole and carved thread for anchor bolt and without hole and thread, followed by the comparision of necessary force to break it. The thesis continues with metallographic investigation of cylinder lock's surface at breaking point. At the end of the thesis, there are compared the results and proposed measures which could make breaking of cylinder locks more complicated.
