This thesis is focused on an engineering design of modernised headlight crash test machine. An analysis of a current machine was the main task of the first part. The analysis was performed on basis of high speed camera recordings, results from frame deformation measurements and energy loses of shooting impactor. For the analysis a 3D model of the mechanism was used. The second part deals with the main solution options with respect to previously analysed data. Final design of the mechanism is a result of combining the best solutions. A strain analysis of mechanism parts was the last part of the thesis. Mechanical drawings, 3D model of the mechanism designed in SW Autodesk Inventor and high speed camera recordings are included.
