Abstract
The work deals with the Stirling engine. It is a hot engine with external combustion. For this reason, it is also possible to use non-noble fuel. It was patented in 1816. Thesis describes the history, principles, advantages, disadvantages, various modifications of the Stirling engine. It also deals with already functioning solar power Stirling engine and the own design of the low-temperature Stirling engine solar power. Furthermore, the use of the Stirling engine in other industries in the world and in the Czech Republic.
