Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to carry out strategic analysis of a selected company. This company manufactures and sells drilling tools and drilling components. The work is divided into five chapters, with the first one and the fifth one being the introduction and the conclusion. The second chapter defines what strategy and strategic analysis mean in general. It also describes analysis based on the environments analyzed. The third chapter introduces the selected company, especially its business activities, history and organizational structure. The main part of the thesis is chapter four, where specific methods, described in the second chapter, are applied. Firstly, methods of external environments are applied, namely PEST method and Porter´s five forces model, followed by internal environment analysis and factors influencing the selected company. Specifically, financial analysis based on the company´s financial statements is carried out. Finally, the findings and results from the above analysis are summarized in SWOT analysis and based on this analysis a strategy for the selected company is suggested.
