Abstract
Master thesis is dealing with design of machine for folding a chain. The machine uses industrial robot to place the components of the chain on a turntable, on which the rivets are later pounded into shape. In the begging the individual components of the chain are described. After that there is a comparison of solutions available on the market, followed by detailed comparison of the core components which define the design of the machine. Based on this comparison the design of the machine is created. The machine is divided into frame, turntable with drive unit, industrial robot, component feeders and press. Then the nonlinear analysis for determining the press force on the rivet was done as well as stress analysis of the frame and calculation of the drive’s unit required torque. Simulation of the vibratory bowl feeders was done in Rocky DEM software. The attachments are assembly drawing, drive shaft drawing and video recording from Rocky DEM.
