The diploma thesis deals with the design of an automated workplace for the assembly of shaft rings. The introduction of the thesis includes a detailed analysis of the current state of the workplace, including the technological specification, utilized components, description of the layout of the existing workplace, and a list of requirements. Furthermore, a research of possible automated solutions that could replace the current process operations was conducted. Based on the research, several concepts of the layout of the workplace were proposed and refined through an iterative process. For the final iteration of the workplace layout, concepts of key peripherals solving individual operations were designed. The concluding chapter describes the proposed process, its problems, and partial solutions. The outcome of the thesis is a cost estimate, determination of the expected cycle time of the workplace, and a simulation of the proposed process in Visual Components Premium 4.5 software.
