Hodnocení výkonnosti českého pojistného trhu pomocí metod vícekriteriálního rozhodování

Abstract

The thesis focuses on evaluating the performance of the Czech insurance market over the period 2015–2024 using multi-criteria decision-making methods. The objective of the thesis is to assess the performance of the insurance market in the Czech Republic using selected absolute and ratio indicators and to analyze its development based on five key indicators. Data were obtained from the annual reports of the Czech Insurance Association. The theoretical part focuses on the characteristics of the decision-making process and describes methods for determining the weights of criteria as well as methods of multi-criteria evaluation of alternatives. Another part of the thesis characterizes the Czech insurance market and describes selected indicators used to evaluate the insurance market, followed by an analysis of their development for the market as a whole, as well as from the perspective of life and non-life insurance. The practical part focuses on analyzing the development of the Czech insurance market and evaluating its performance using multi-criteria decomposition methods, specifically the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the Analytic Network Process (ANP). Individual criteria weights are determined using Saaty’s pairwise comparison method. Based on these weights and the application of the mentioned methods, the importance ranking of the individual indicators is established. From this ranking, the five key indicators with the highest importance scores are selected and used to assess the market’s performance in each year of the analyzed period. In the conclusion of the thesis, an overall evaluation of the Czech insurance market for the observed period is performed.
