Abstract

The final thesis deals with application of desulfurization equipment on boilers K 3 and 4 in the Třebovice Power Plant which are not able to comply with the emission limits given by the legislation when fired by coal powder without flue gas desulfurization technology. The first part of the final thesis describes the boiler and its electric equipment and also handling of the by-products of power generation in the existing operation scheme. The second part provides a brief description of the basic desulfurization methods used in power generation industry. The third part includes calculations, a description of a desulfurization method using a semi-dry desulfurization technology, a basic description of the design of the individual mechanical parts and the proposed handling of the by-products of power generation when using this method of SO2 reduction.
