Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the analysis of the possibilities of using artificial intelligence in airport security and the assessment of its benefits and risks. The theoretical part first describes the historical development of security measures and the current state of airport security. It further defines the issue of artificial intelligence, its principles, and the various types of technologies. The thesis also includes a description of selected cases of artificial intelligence implementation leading to an increased level of security, as well as an overview of concepts for future development in this field. The practical part includes a SWOT analysis evaluating the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with the use of artificial intelligence in aviation security. The conclusion of the thesis proposes the implementation of a technology based on artificial intelligence at Leoš Janáček Airport in Ostrava, with the aim of increasing the level of security and improving the efficiency of security checks.
