Abstract
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of support separation in metal parts produced by Wire Laser Metal Deposition (W-LMD) technology using the Meltio system. The theoretical part presents a review of the current state of metal additive manufacturing, with a focus on DED technology, its main variants WAAM, LMD and W-LMD, as well as on existing methods of support removal. Based on this analysis, two experimental approaches to modifying the interface layer between the support structure and the main geometry were proposed. The first variant focused on changing the deposition process parameters, while the second one addressed the infill density and geometry of the supporting structure. The proposed approaches were verified on test specimens in the Meltio Horizon software environment. The experimental results showed the limitations of the selected methodology and confirmed that achieving easy support separation while preserving the geometric integrity and mechanical properties of the final part is limited. At the same time, the thesis provides a basis for further research in the field of support structure optimization in W-LMD technology.
