Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to develop a control system for automotive devices, as well as a control software which will perform the required functions and finally to test the proper operation and safety applications. The control system consists of the machine itself, including MicroLogix 1500 expansion modules and operator panel PanelView 600 Plus Color, interconnected via a serial line.
The controlled object is a machine that fixes the pins on the car door module. The function of these pins is to stabilize the module during installation in the door. The machine must be able to distinguish 16 kinds of door modules.
The thesis describes the basic features of programmable logic controllers, principles of their programming, brief characteristics of the expansion modules, as well as a description of the programming environment, including the method of programming and testing applications.
